Who We Are

Thompson Interiors is a design studio guided by a simple philosophy: do it once, and do it right. We understand that a well-designed home is an investment and our detail-oriented process and expertise reflect that. Our work balances creativity with practicality, resulting in homes that feel layered, personal, and enduring. Each interior is approached as a living composition—designed to spark joy, offer comfort, and evolve beautifully over time.

Founded by Candace Thompson, the studio is known for character-rich spaces that embrace colour, pattern, and warmth, grounded by modern and contemporary lines. A love of antiques and hand-crafted details, paired with a strong technical foundation, ensures every space is thoughtfully considered and designed to last—without sacrificing style.

Art plays an integral role in the studio’s work. Candace’s fine art practice informs the interiors she creates, with hand-drawn and painted designs currently being developed into a line of custom fabrics and wallpapers.

If you’re drawn to homes that feel collected rather than curated, and believe that timeless will always outlast trends, we’d love to connect.

Background

After graduating from TMU’s School of Interior Design with honours (formerly Ryerson University), Candace spent her formative years working under design and decorating legend, Lynda Reeves. She honed her technical design skills while working on high-end residential homes and cottages in Toronto and surrounding cottage country, including Lynda’s famous Lakehouse renovation which was extensively documented on video and in print.

In addition to designing clients’ homes, Candace worked as the resident columnist for House & Home Magazine’s ‘Ask A Designer’ — a monthly column helping readers tackle their design dilemmas.

After a brief sabbatical in France to attend an artist residency and immerse herself in all things art and design history — Candace founded Thompson Interiors with the goal of crafting artful, timeless interiors for clients through an approachable, collaborative process.

She’s hoping to integrate her textile and wallpaper collection in her projects before the end of 2026. Stay tuned!
